The Charge

A Campbell County citizen attended a library board meeting and observed that if he was on the same board his boss was on, he wouldn't have the courage to vote differently than his boss did.  This was a remark targeting Sage Bear, Chairman of the Campbell County Public Library (CCPL) Board, and Charles Butler, another CCPL Board Member who was a part-time employee of Bear's Naturally Clean Dry Cleaners.

This article in the Gillette News Record states that:  "After consulting with the Campbell County Attorney's office, it was determined that if Butler continued working for Bear's company, some people might believe she had influence over his votes, according to a statement from the county."  This led to Charles Butler resigning from the part-time job he had with Sage Bear.

The Evidence

At countless library board meetings, speakers in favor of training underaged kids to have sex with adults (and with other children) are employed by CCPL or have family members employed by CCPL.  It is not only well known, but was widely publicized, that Terri Lesley (the appointed Executive Director of CCPL) got a $500.00 cash kickback from the pro-child-sex American Library Association (ALA) for promoting their agenda.  Under Terri Lesley, CCPL employees have been required to attend ALA "seminars" which indoctrinate them into the ideology and train them how to undermine parental concerns and citizens' rights as pertains to smut for children in the public library.

No one has addressed the reality that all of those CCPL-affiliated pro-child-sex speakers, whose statements influence the CCPL Board (and the Campbell County Board of Commissioners), are just as subject to coersion and kickbacks as any other employee and are just as likely to be garnering favor from their bosses.

The Judgment

By this "logic," we should have laws that prevent anyone from holding any public office unless they are self-employed.

Based on this one citizen's opinion, and based on a letter from the Campbell County Attorney's Office advising Charles Butler that an employer-employee conflict exists:  Every CCPL employee who has spoken at a CCPL board meeting, whose viewpoint matched Terri Lesley's, should be released from employment immediately if they don't resign.  After all, we don't want any employer-employee conflicts at board meetings.

This was an attack against two American CCPL Board Members as well as the American Campbell County Commissioners who appointed them.  The statement suggests that the players involved are of such low character, and so devoid of personal integrity, that they can't think and speak for themselves.  Anyone who pays attention at these meetings knows that is not the case.

While vigorous debate is the foundation of the Democratic Process, ad hominem attacks don't qualify as debate.
